Version 1.2.0 Release Notes: Business Model Game, New Archetypes & Card Sets
We're excited to announce the release of Version 1.2.0 of our Business Model Game, now with an updated deck of personas, new archetypes, and enhanced card sets! This online simulation, with blended elements, is designed to immerse participants in the fundamentals of the Business Model Canvas, focusing on early-stage entrepreneurship. It offers a hands-on, engaging approach to understanding key aspects of building a startup, from ideation to developing a sustainable business model.
We’re currently back on the campus of the University of Luxembourg, where 24 international students from the Master’s program in Entrepreneurship & Innovation—hailing from 15 different countries (Albania, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, China, France, India, Italy, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, and the USA)—are diving deep into Business Modeling and Entrepreneurship. Over the next few weeks, they’ll explore the game’s latest features and experience its new dynamic gameplay, combining theoretical insights with practical, real-world applications.
Business Ecosystems Game Update: Expanding Focus with Flexible Elements
Following the successful launch and positive feedback from the initial announcement of our new Business Ecosystems Game last month, we're excited to share some updates on its development. Since the newsletter sparked great interest, we've been working on adding flexible elements that enhance the game’s adaptability. These new features will allow us to adjust the focus of the game, making it suitable for both corporate innovation scenarios (like the Innovation Funnel) and startup ecosystems.
While the game’s core revolves around building networks to create value at the individual, firm, and system levels, these new flexible elements enable a tailored experience. For startup ecosystems, we're integrating methodologies such as Design Thinking, Customer Development, and Lean Startup, equipping players with the tools to ideate, validate, and iterate like early-stage entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, for corporate environments, the game can shift to emphasize structured innovation processes, reflecting the journey through the Innovation Funnel from ideation to commercialization.
Stay tuned as we continue to refine and expand the game, creating even more engaging ways for participants to navigate and understand the dynamics of ecosystems, whether they’re in a startup or corporate setting.
Version 9.3.1 Release Notes: Innovation Management Game
We’ve recently also released Version 9.3.1 of the Innovation Management Game! This update brings minor yet impactful improvements to the algorithm that calculates the unicity score, increasing the detail and accuracy of the assessment. With these enhancements, in-game decisions will now more precisely reflect changes in value propositions, leading to a richer and more engaging classroom experience. Players will gain deeper insights into how their strategic choices influence the uniqueness and success of their innovations, further aligning the game with real-world innovation dynamics.
